Liebster Blog Award

I just learned that my friend from Bargain Hunting Treasure Seeker was sweet enough to nominate this blog for a Liebster Award. I am a fairly new blogger and am not familiar with any bloggy awards, but I learned from this post that it is an award given to "up and coming bloggers that have less than 200 followers."

Thank you!!!

"Liebster" is a German word that mean sweetest, kindest, nicest, beloved, loveliest, cutest....

I am super thankful to have been nominated for this award by a blogger, Kim, that I look up to so much. (Please check out her blog....SO cute!).

Here are the blogs that I am choosing to nominate:

Kitschy-Vintage {66 followers}
Protector of Vintage {110 followers}
My Lovely Life {121 followers}
Vintage Bettys {145 followers}
Pyrex Finds {8 followers}

The rules for the Liebster Award are:

1. Thank the giver and link back to her/him.
2. Reveal your top picks and leave a comment
    on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the
    love too!

~ Pyrex! ~

I am attending a work cookout tomorrow and I signed up to bake cookies! :) And I will show off my vintage Pyrex any opportunity that I can....ha ha.

I made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies!

...and then I pulled out my pink daisy casserole to carry them in. I tied on the ribbon to hold the lid in place in the car. I love pink and turquoise together. :)

What is your favorite use for your vintage Pyrex?

Cute Kitchen Cart!

Hi! Yesterday, my mom and I went to our absolute favorite antique place. It is in Concord, NC and it called "The Depot." It is actually inside the old Gibson Mill and has 85,000 square feet and 460 booths. It is supposed to be the "largest antique and designer mall in the South." It is amazing.

Always plan on buying at least one thing!!! :)

I found a super cool kitchen cart, which, after a little research I realized that it is not old at all. But it is sooo cute and super useful. Here is the stock photo.

But this is what I did with it.

Now, I know this probably looks funny in my room. Haha! :) But next year it will look awesome in my kitchen!!!

Vintage Pyrex, vintage Gemco creamer & sugar dish, vintage glass shakers, vintage Tupperware salad tongs, & vintage potholders. :)

More vintage Pyrex and vintage syrup holders.

I loooove cookbooks! :)

Anthropologie apron and dog dishtowel. The cherry dishtowel is vintage.

I bought the kitchen cart for $39! It's a little rusty and worn, but that just gives it character. I saw a new one on Ebay for $120! I love a good deal.

Thanks for looking! :)

Thrift Store Find

Woo-hoo! I am pretty excited about my find this week. My mother and I went vintage hunting earlier this week. We were looking for Pyrex or Le Creuset (which we sadly did not see), but we did find this:

Gorgeous! And it was only $30! The thrift store is for a good cause, so it was basically like donating $30 and getting a fabulous quilt in return. It is a bit dirty and the edge is discolored, but it has absolutley no rips and the colors are fantastic.

Love.

I found this old camera box a few weeks ago and forgot to blog about it (since it's not vintage kitchen...lol), but I thought it was super cool and it was only $10. I think it looks awesome on my bookshelf. It's a nice vintage touch I think.

Thanks for looking! :)

Liberty Antiques Festival!

Hello! I know it's been a little while since my last post...but I swear I am alive and had a great shopping weekend! I went to the Liberty Antiques Festival on Friday!!! I couldn't get any photographs of the actual festival this year because it was pouring down rain....really....I got soaked! Haha. But, it was all worth it for some great vintage Pyrex finds.

Okay...my finds: purchased the sunflower casserole dish for $10 (yay!), the fridgies were $2 each, the blue horizon 1 1/2 pt bowl was $4, the amish butterprint pieces were a steal...all three for $10 (!!!), the striped nesting bowl set was $20 (very exciting), and finally the small green pixie casserole was $3. I am not sure what the aqua casserole underneath it is, but I bought it because I already had two of them at home and I loooove the color. And it was only $2!!! I love good bargains. :)

Now, I did not buy this at the antique festival, but I bought it at an antique store on the way home. It is a vintage Le Creuset "flame" colored pot! Bought it for $24! I was very excited about it. This is my first Le Creuset piece and now I am hooked.

So, this is just part of my Pyrex collection. I seem to have a few pieces stuffed here and there but I thought this display on top of my yard sale cabinet looked pretty cute. Can you tell I love the bright Pyrex colors? :)

Yes! Proof that Pyrex is stuffed everywhere. LOL. I didn't have anywhere to put these, so I stuck them up here. I love the aqua and the pink together. ---As long as they don't fall on my head. : P

Thanks for looking at my finds! What have you found lately that you were excited about?

vintage and new {and new to me}

I just thought this picture was cool. Two of my favorite things. Coca-Cola and Fiesta shakers. :)

I bought this pitcher for $6.50 and the fridgie was also $6.50. See how the pitcher has the "spring blossom green" pattern??? Love that.

A dear friend gave me this vintage Pyrex casserole dish as a wedding present. It is the first piece I have in this pattern! Soo pretty! I bought the salt and pepper shakers for $6 and the tea towel for $1.50.

My husband made me this cute trivet from wine corks and a vintage tray. The corks are from a winery we visited on our honeymoon. He's awesome. :)

I just love salt and pepper shakers!!!

Thanks for looking. :)

I'm back! :)

I know it's been awhile...but this is the start of a lot more blogging. :) I have been really busy lately.....I just got married and was lucky enough to spend 11 days with my wonderful husband before he had to return to California. I know this is not thrifty vintage kitchen related, but I really wanted to share some photos of the most special day of my life....

I was pretty sad after I dropped him off at the airport, so --- of course! --- I went vintage shopping!!!! I found some good buys --- pictures to follow soon...

~~~~
Getting married has made me really start thinking about things like buying a house, etc. I have been thinking for awhile about my perfect kitchen and what I want it to look like. Here are two that I LOVE that I found online:
Raleigh, NC Flea Market
Hi everyone! I know I haven't blogged in awhile, but I have been suuuper busy with planning my wedding and have been a serious budget (eek!). But....I DID go to the flea market today in Raleigh and it was really neat. I walked away only spending 25 cents on a cute, turquoise Anchor Hocking bowl....haha. Here are some pics...
And this is what we are all about in North Carolina. Having a good time...and hot dog eating contests!
Antiques and "junk" as far as the eye can see....ohh yes, and there's also my dad in the yellow shirt!
I love retro furniture. Especially the cute yellow patio set. Nice.
Can I just say that I love EVERYTHING about this booth, "From the Heart Antiques." The next four photos are also from this booth...
I fell in love with these!!!! I love almost anything vintage and red...
....really wanted to buy this pitcher...!
The cutest sour cream glasses...I want them all! :)
Nothing says "cute vintage" like pink and turquoise Pyrex. Adorable.
And finally, the Pyrex jackpot. This is only 1/4 of what was in THIS booth....(wait...am I drooling....???) That's embarrassing...
Vintage shell cameos!!!! I love them...I've collected them since I was a little girl. This is an exceptional collection....and only one of four cases stocked full of them...
So...ok....these are obviously not vintage. But, wow. Soo pretty. And I am all about buying handmade and supporting local artists.
Seriously. Wow.
So that pretty much sums up my day. Awesome. Can I just say that I saw so much patriotism out there today, too. I saw soo many beautiful American flags flying. I feel so fortunate to live in America. I hope everyone has a fabulous holiday!
